Research group of Profs. Masaki Hada and Yasuhiko Hayashi at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in collaboration with Kyoto University, Tsukuba University, Kyshu University, Nagoya University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Keil University, and the Max Planck Institute of the Structure and Dynamics of Matter, has observed the ultrafast dynamics of molecules in liquid crystal phase for the first time in the world.
